In an episode from The Big Hit Show Podcast released February 16, 2022, FlyLo mentions Kendrick recording over Kanye's production: "And in the opening few days of the [Yeezus] tour, I was on the bus too. And I remember waking up to the most weirdest sounds. I heard some raps or whatever, then I come to found out that it was some Kanye thing that he passed on to Kendrick to see if anything would happen". Those beats are most likely all Yeezus 2 throwaways that Ye was already working on at the time.

OG Filename: TDE REF 1 Prod JB x Justice Leauge x Cardiak In August 2013 Crook mentioned hoping for a Black Hippy and Slaughterhouse track and later in Feburary 2015 Royce mentioned the song existing during a DJ Vlad interview with DJ Premier. In the DJ Vlad video Royce said the song has a "crazy beat" and that it was difficult to put together. Later that month Just Blaze would post a screenshot of the song on Twitter as a teaser.
