![Utopia [Phase 2]](/data/artists/travis-scott/images/unreleased/utopia-phase-2.webp)
The second phase of 'Utopia', after the album was reworked somewhat, following the AstroFest tragedy. Era ends when the project was released on July 28, 2023.
OG Filename: Aye (BNYX) Ruff v6 OPEN Later version, still solo Uzi, with the beat switch now included and an open verse for Travis. Seemingly the same version played at the Road to Utopia event on September 17, 2022; where only Uzi's part was heard. Leaked May 25, 2025.
Version said to have been sent to Mike Dean for 'Utopia'. Unclear how this differs from the final version.
Early version teased on Instagram Live on February 24, 2023. Missing Wheezy's tag and Don's verse; Don also has some slightly different lyrics at points, and it's missing the final outro. Possibly made in early 2021 based on a tweet from Don. Unclear if this version was Travis's or not, due to the lack of Don on the song.
Played at the 'UTOPIA' release event after-party. Uses Carti's take from the streaming release, has Carti's adlibs after the hook before Sheck's verse starts, and ends with another hook. Possibly the version that was rumoured to drop on streaming services.
Finished solo version debuted at a show in London on August 6, 2022; later played at the Road to Utopia event on September 17, 2022. Has a different mix. Probably recorded in 2021, but this version may be later.
Presumably a later version; the instrumental was teased through a promotional video for Travis's Air Jordan 1 Lows posted on July 19, 2022, and Travis posted an Instagram story featuring a Porsche Design gold BlackBerry phone on October 19. Teased again for a promotion with PIN-UP Magazine on May 24, 2023, after 'V1' leaked, and again as part of a promotion for the Nike Mac Attack on June 18. Possibly intended for Chase B's album, but this is purely speculation. Has a different outro.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bad Bunny mentioned that him and Travis had "worked on ["K-pop"] a while back"; The Weeknd's lyrics suggest that he may have been added around May 2023 during the sessions in southern France, so there's likely an early version without him.
Open-verse version, confirmed to exist in an interview by Teezo Touchdown (the interview has since been privated; it's been archived several times on archive.org, but the video is unplayable).
OG Filename [?]: MY EYES - BOUNCE 1 Owned by the person that leaked Demo 3. Said to be different to the final version in some way. Could be missing Sampha as he hopped on last-minute, or he could have more vocals - he said in a Vulture article that his part came from a freestyle, that was presumably much longer.
OG Filename: MY EYES - BOUNCE 2 Near-final version, dated June 1, 2023, with a slightly rougher mix. Leaked June 9, 2024.
Made in early 2022. This session had nothing to do with "Parasail".
Teased through an Instagram video where Travis is shown playing the song to Rick Rubin. A small section of the outro instrumental can be heard, and it's different from the final version; other differences, including who exactly produced on this version, are unclear. This version is likely from 2023.
OG Filename: FBOPENS-V - CD REF 1 Version dated June 2, 2023, with a different SZA verse. Leaked June 11, 2024. Appears to have still been titled "Future Bounce" at this point, but is separate from the Kanye versions for the sake of organisation.
OG Filename: FBOPENS-V - CD REF 2 Alternate mix of the previous version, dated June 4, 2023. Leaked June 11, 2024.
An unknown number of other demos are said to exist, with different adlib placement and runtimes.
Reference mix used by Tom Elmhirst to create the final mix; is similar to Demo 1, but has the final version's drums. Played briefly in a deconstruction of the mixing process.
On Episode 8 of the Clearly Cultured Podcast, Rob49 explained that Travis didn't have a verse when he initially played the song for Rob, only having the "twin bitches" intro section laid down. Might have some mumble.
In an interview with Complex from August 2023, Rob49 said that he recorded for "Topia Twins" roughly a year prior, just before the two attended an All-Stars MLB party. 21 Savage was added later.
Song seen in a list of files (folder named "Travis x PP - RIVS") shown by Rivs Strips on September 29, 2023.
Snippet leaked March 4, 2023. Unlike the clearance demo, Cudi says "Trav" before Travis's verse (like the final version). Other differences are unknown, besides the mix.
